In the news...

...allegations that MCK execs conspired to commit fraud! An amended
complaint was filed on Tuesday with regard to the pending class action suit.
Apparently the fraud continues as it is now being reported that outside
auditors, Deloitte & Touche, (hired by MCK prior to the merger with HBOC)
had discovered accounting irregularities. The allegations suggest that
their findings were "hushed" to complete the merger.

"According to the amended complaint, information contained in a memo written
by McKesson's financial adviser on the deal, Bear Stearns (BSC:NYSE - news),
shows that McKesson officials, its board and Bear Stearns knew prior to the
merger that HBO had improperly recognized revenue and manipulated reserves,
and that "there was a high probability that, if these facts were discovered,
the SEC would require" HBO's financial statements to be restated. " ..and
so the saga continues. However, the market seems unaffected as MCK has just
hit it's 52 week high -- go figure?
